For Funk Freaks co-founders, Ivan "Debo" Marquez, David "Loser" Diaz and Robert "Luer" Marquez, funk music is a huge part of Orange County Chicanx culture. The DJ collective (and later record shop) was influenced by the trio's youthful memories listening to funk hits, passed down generation to generation.
